Preparation
- Lay your flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of apple pie filling across the center of each tortilla.
- Roll each tortilla tightly around the filling, tucking in the sides to fully enclose the filling.
- Brush the outside of each rolled taquito with melted butter.
- In a shallow dish, stir together your sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll each buttered taquito in this mixture, coating the outside completely.
Cooking
- Place your coated taquitos into the air fryer basket, seam side down, in a single layer without stacking.
- Air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 9 to 11 minutes, until golden and crispy.
- Carefully flip each taquito over, then air fry for an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
- Remove from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute before serving.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
These taquitos can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven to maintain crispiness. Variations include using different canned fruit fillings or adding toppings like caramel or cheesecake.
