Preparation
- Cut the top and bottom off your pineapple, then slice away the skin in strips. Cut the peeled pineapple into rounds about half an inch thick and remove the tough core from each ring.
- Cut each ring into quarters for smaller, bite-sized wedges. Pat the pieces dry with a paper towel.
Preheat Air Fryer
- Set your air fryer to 390°F and let it run empty for about three minutes. Lightly mist the basket with cooking spray or a thin coat of neutral oil.
Mix Coating
- In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter, packed brown sugar, and ground allspice until it forms a smooth, thick paste.
Coat Pineapple
- Drop the pineapple wedges into the bowl with the coating and toss gently until every piece is coated evenly.
Cook in Batches
- Arrange the coated pineapple pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 6 to 6½ minutes, then flip each piece and cook for another 6 to 6½ minutes until deep golden brown. Repeat in batches.
Serve
- Serve the pineapple while warm, either plain or over vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Tips for the best results include ensuring pineapple is completely dry, cooking in similar sizes, avoiding overcrowding, and flipping halfway through cooking.
