  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt Dairy-free alternatives can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Adjust based on sweetness preference; can reduce if using very ripe fruits.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Add more for a spiced flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional but enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes Reduce if using fully frozen bananas.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (squeeze, optional) Prevents browning of the apple.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Step 1: Freeze your bananas by peeling, slicing, and placing them in a zip-lock bag for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Step 2: Core and chop the apple into 1-inch chunks. Optionally toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Blending
  1. Step 3: Layer the ingredients in the blender, starting with milk, followed by yogurt, apple chunks, frozen bananas, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon juice. Top with ice cubes.
  2. Step 4: Blend on low for 15-20 seconds, then medium for 20-30 seconds. Lastly, blend on high for 30-40 seconds until smooth. Adjust thickness if necessary.
Serving
  1. Step 5: Pour the smoothie into clear glasses. Garnish with apple slices, a dusting of cinnamon, walnuts, and honey if desired.
  2. Step 6: Serve immediately for the best flavor and appearance.
