Main Drink Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon basil seeds (sabja seeds) Soak before using
  • 2 cups cold water Use more if needed
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or sugar syrup Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice For brightness
  • as needed cubes Ice Chill the drink

  • rose syrup For added sweetness and flavor
  • mint leaves For garnish
  • splash orange juice For a fruity twist

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add basil seeds to a small bowl with about 1 cup of water and let them soak for 10 to 15 minutes until they swell and develop a gel coating.
  2. Fill a serving glass or jug with ice cubes.
  3. Pour honey, sugar syrup, or preferred sweetener into the glass.
  4. Add fresh lemon or lime juice to the glass.
  5. Drain excess soaking water from the basil seeds and spoon them into the serving glass.
  6. Pour cold water over everything and stir thoroughly.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or citrus if needed. Add mint leaves or fruit slices if using.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately while cold for the best experience.
