  • 4 medium Sweet potatoes, cooked Orange-fleshed sweet potatoes are recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Slice your cooled, cooked sweet potatoes into half-inch rounds.
  3. Arrange your sweet potato slices evenly in a 3-quart casserole dish, overlapping slightly.
Making the Glaze
  1. In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, water, and salt. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Let the glaze boil for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously, until it thickens slightly.
Baking
  1. Pour the finished glaze evenly over the arranged sweet potato slices.
  2. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
  3. Check near the end of baking to ensure the glaze looks bubbly and slightly darker.
  4. Remove from the oven and let sit for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with roasted chicken or turkey, chopped pecans, and cinnamon for added flavor. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
