Preparation
- Cut the fresh pineapple into long, even spears and remove the tough core.
- Lay the pineapple spears out on a large pan or baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle a light dusting of cinnamon over the top.
Make the Caramel Sauce
- Whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth.
- If needed, microwave the mixture for a few seconds to loosen it up.
Coat Every Spear
- Using a basting brush, spread the caramel mixture generously over each pineapple spear.
- Ensure all sides are covered for full flavor.
Fire Up the Grill
- Preheat your grill to medium heat and prepare the grates.
- Place the coated pineapple spears directly onto the grill.
Grill Until Golden
- Grill the pineapple for about 7 to 10 minutes, flipping occasionally for even cooking.
- Watch for a deep golden brown color and grill marks.
Baste With Extra Sauce
- Once caramelized, remove the pineapple from the grill and brush any leftover sauce over the spears.
Serve Immediately
- Serve the grilled pineapple warm alongside vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or enjoy on its own.
Notes
For best results: cut spears evenly, baste both sides, watch the heat closely, and serve warm for maximum flavor.
