  • 1 can 21 ounce can cherry pie filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Make sure to soften fully before mixing for a smooth filling.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional Adds crunch if used.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Make the Cheesecake Filling
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Layer the Ingredients
  1. Spread cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  2. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the cherry filling and gently spread it.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, and milk, stirring until smooth.
  4. Pour the cake batter over the cheesecake layer, spreading it evenly without mixing.
Baking
  1. If using pecans, sprinkle them on top of the batter and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  2. Let the cake cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let cool slightly before serving to allow the layers to set properly.
