Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or finely diced Rotisserie chicken works great
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives or green onions, finely chopped
For the Dough and Topping
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz each) (16 triangles total)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for brushing on top)
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese Optional but highly recommended
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream and mix until creamy, then stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Fold in shredded chicken and cheddar cheese, then add chopped chives or green onions. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Open cans of crescent dough, and press two triangles together to form a wider base for each bundle.
Assembly
  1. Place 2 to 3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of each doubled dough piece. Pull the corners up toward the center and pinch them together firmly.
  2. Place each bundle seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush generously over each bundle. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese if desired.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes, checking for a golden-brown color. Let cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For best results, use rotisserie chicken and ensure cream cheese is softened. Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting during baking.
