- In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until evenly coated and slightly damp.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to create the crust.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
- Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
- Whip the heavy cream until firm peaks form, then dollop and spread it over the cherry filling.
- If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings or grated chocolate over the topping.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours.
Serving
- Once chilled, cut into squares or slices and serve cold.
Notes
Press the crust firmly for clean slices. Use softened cream cheese for a better texture. Don't overwhip the cream. Allow the dessert to chill fully for best results.
