Crescent Roll Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

For the cinnamon rolls
  • 2 packages crescent roll dough (8 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened Softened butter is important for blending.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Both light or dark brown sugar can be used.
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
For the icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk Add milk gradually until desired consistency.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until it forms a thick paste.
  3. Unroll both packages of crescent roll dough and press the perforated seams together to form one solid sheet.
  4. Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly across the dough.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from the short end into logs.
  6. Slice each log into 6 equal rolls, totaling 12 rolls.
  7. Place sliced rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  8. While the rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl.
  9. Once rolls are baked, remove them and let cool slightly before drizzling with icing.

Notes

For variations, try cream cheese frosting, adding fruit or nuts to the filling, or using different citrus flavors.
