Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (cut into pats)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 12 oz egg noodles (wide or extra-wide)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Method

Preparation
  1. Lay the chicken breasts flat at the bottom of your crockpot in a single layer, and season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chicken bouillon.
  2. Spoon the cream of chicken soup over the chicken, ensuring it is spread evenly.
  3. Drop the butter pats on top of the soup layer, then pour the chicken broth around the sides of the crockpot.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on HIGH for 3.5 to 4 hours or on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken inside the crockpot using two forks.
  6. Stir everything together until the soup and broth form a silky sauce.
  7. Add the egg noodles to the crockpot, ensuring they are fully coated with sauce.
  8. Cover and cook on HIGH for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, checking for noodle tenderness.
  9. Stir in dried parsley before serving.

Notes

Use wide or extra-wide egg noodles for better texture. Check noodle doneness early to avoid mushiness and adjust seasoning as needed.
