Method
Mix and Cut the Dough
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder together in a large bowl.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and work it in until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the buttermilk and stir gently until a soft dough just comes together.
Roll, Fill, and Seal
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about half an inch thick.
- Cut out circles of dough using a biscuit cutter.
- Place a slice of roast beef and shredded cheese on half of the dough circles, and drizzle with Worcestershire sauce.
- Top each filled circle with a second dough circle and press the edges to seal.
Bake Until Golden
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and arrange the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
Simmer the Dipping Sauce
- Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Cool, Serve, and Dip
- Let the biscuits cool for a few minutes and then serve with the warm dipping sauce.
Notes
Keep your butter cold, don't overwork the dough, and brush with butter before baking for best results.
