Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound smoked sausage (kielbasa or bratwurst)
  • 20 ounces pineapple chunks, canned or fresh
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon reserved pineapple juice
  • Toothpicks, for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces, approximately one inch thick.
  3. Place the sausage pieces and pineapple chunks in a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, chili sauce, honey, and reserved pineapple juice until smooth.
  5. Pour the glaze over the sausage and pineapple, tossing to coat evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then stir and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the glaze is bubbly and golden.
Serving
  1. Serve directly from the pan with toothpicks for casual eating, or skewer sausage and pineapple pieces on toothpicks for a plated presentation.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the sausage in the glaze for an hour or two before baking. Watch the bake time closely to achieve the perfect caramelization without burning. Fresh pineapple gives a brighter flavor.
