Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for topping
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions for topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks for 7 to 8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned beef, drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and mix until evenly combined.
  4. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and transfer the mixture into the dish, smoothing it out evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, watching for bubbling edges and melted cheese.
  2. Add the French fried onions on top and bake for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure beef is drained well to maintain texture. Use fresh green beans for best results, and let the casserole rest before serving for neat slices.
