  • 2 packages 14 ounces each lil smokies sausages
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup hot honey Adjust based on desired heat level
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic Use fresh for better flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Check gluten-free if necessary
  • 1 teaspoon hickory liquid smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Open your packages of lil smokies and pour them straight into your slow cooker. Spread them out evenly.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add ketchup, hot honey, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, salt, pepper, and ground mustard. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce over the sausages in the slow cooker and stir gently to coat.
  4. Cover and set slow cooker on low heat. Cook for 4 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once cooked, stir again, taste the sauce, and adjust with more hot honey if desired before serving.

Notes

Use fresh minced garlic for better flavor, and double the recipe for larger gatherings. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
