Ingredients
  

Fruits and Base
  • 2 medium ripe bananas The more spotty, the sweeter
  • 2 medium peaches, peeled and pitted Fresh or frozen both work well
  • 3 tablespoons juiced lemon Juice of 1 large lemon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest Optional, enhances citrus flavor
Liquid and Extras
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt Or coconut yogurt for dairy-free
  • 1/2 cup milk of your choice Dairy, almond, oat, etc.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional for extra sweetness
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes Skip if using frozen peaches
  • 1 pinch turmeric Optional, adds color and health boost

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prep your peaches by washing them, cutting them in half, and removing the pit. Peel if preferred for smoother texture.
  2. Peel bananas and break into chunks for easier blending.
Juicing and Zesting
  1. Juice the lemon to get about three tablespoons of juice.
  2. If using lemon zest, zest the lemon before juicing.
Blending
  1. In the blender, add milk and yogurt first to create a fluid base.
  2. Add banana chunks, peach pieces, lemon juice, zest, and honey (if using). Finally, add ice cubes.
  3. Blend on low speed for 10 seconds, then increase to high speed and blend for 45-60 seconds until smooth.
Taste and Adjust
  1. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness or thickness as desired by adding honey or milk.
Serving
  1. Pour into glasses and serve immediately. Garnish with lemon or peach slices if desired.

Notes

Store any leftover smoothie in a sealed jar for up to 24 hours. Shake before consuming as separation occurs.
