- Cream the softened cream cheese and butter together in a mixing bowl with a stand or hand mixer for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth.
- Add tequila and triple sec to the mixture and mix again on medium speed until fully combined.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, starting on low speed to avoid a cloud of sugar dust, then increase to medium until smooth and thick.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping using a rubber spatula to preserve the light texture.
- Transfer the dip to a serving dish and garnish with fresh lime zest.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve with salted pretzels.
Notes
Use full-fat cream cheese for best results. Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing. Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance for improved flavor.
