Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Make sure it's fully softened for easy mixing.
  • 8 ounces whipped topping Use thawed store-bought whipped topping.
  • 8 tablespoons butter, softened One stick of butter, softened at room temperature.
  • 1/4 cup tequila or lime liqueur Use tequila for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon triple sec Adds orange flavor.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Adjust sweetness as needed.
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest For garnishing.
For Serving
  • Salted pretzels As many as your crowd needs.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cream the softened cream cheese and butter together in a mixing bowl with a stand or hand mixer for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth.
  2. Add tequila and triple sec to the mixture and mix again on medium speed until fully combined.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar, starting on low speed to avoid a cloud of sugar dust, then increase to medium until smooth and thick.
  4. Gently fold in the whipped topping using a rubber spatula to preserve the light texture.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving dish and garnish with fresh lime zest.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  7. Serve with salted pretzels.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for best results. Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing. Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance for improved flavor.
