Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil, add salt, and cook the elbow macaroni for about 3 minutes less than the package directions suggest. Drain and set aside.
Cooking
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion, browning for 6-7 minutes until beef is no longer pink and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in minced garlic, cooking for one minute until fragrant. Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and petite diced tomatoes, stirring until combined.
- Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to taste. Fold in the drained macaroni and half of the shredded cheddar cheese, mixing well.
- Sprinkle remaining cheddar on top and cover with foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Let the goulash rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, let the goulash rest after baking. Adjust seasoning before baking for perfect taste.
