Preparation
- Clear off a section of counter space and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the white candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in short 30-second bursts, stirring thoroughly between each one until smooth.
- Grab a pretzel rod and dip it into the melted white coating, covering about three-quarters of its length. Let any excess coating drip off.
- Lay the dipped rod on the parchment-lined sheet and repeat with the remaining pretzel rods.
- While the coating is still wet, scatter the jimmies, nonpareils, and star sprinkles over each rod.
- Melt the red and blue candy melts in separate bowls using the same microwave method.
- Transfer melted colors into piping bags or zip-top bags with one corner snipped off for easy drizzling.
- Drizzle the red and blue coatings over the pretzel rods to create thin lines.
- Let the pretzel rods set at room temperature until fully hardened (about 20 minutes) or refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Notes
Store finished pretzel rods in an airtight container at room temperature; they stay fresh for about a week. Avoid refrigerating long-term to keep the coating from becoming soft and sticky.
