Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs Avoid boneless, skinless thighs for better moisture and texture.
  • 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix Check salt content before adding additional salt.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Adds brightness to the dish.
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt Optional based on ranch seasoning saltiness.
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish Optional, for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper, and place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Pat each chicken thigh dry with paper towels, ensuring both sides are dry to the touch.
  3. Place the thighs skin-side up on the prepared pan, leaving some space between them. Lightly sprinkle with black pepper and kosher salt if desired.
Cooking
  1. Bake the chicken thighs uncovered for 25 minutes to render the fat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the ranch seasoning, olive oil, minced garlic, and lemon juice until a smooth paste forms.
  3. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the ranch mixture evenly over each thigh.
  4. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, checking the internal temperature with a meat thermometer until it reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  5. Switch the oven to broil and cook for an additional 2 to 5 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to check the chicken's doneness, and remember that cooking times may vary based on thigh sizes. Pair with roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or salad for a complete meal.
