Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts. Cut off the tough stem end and peel away any loose or yellowing leaves.
- Transfer the halved sprouts into a large mixing bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut-side down.
Cooking
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through to promote even browning.
- Check for doneness around the 18-minute mark; look for deep golden-brown edges.
- Optionally, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
For the best results, cut the sprouts to a uniform size and avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. Parchment paper can be used to facilitate cleanup.
