Ingredients

For the Hot Chocolate
  • 2 cups whole milk Provides the rich creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup Nutella Main flavor component.
  • 2 ounces coffee liqueur (like Kahlua) For a rich coffee flavor.
  • 2 ounces hazelnut liqueur (like Frangelico) Enhances the hazelnut flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) Adds depth to the flavor.
For Topping
  • to taste Mini marshmallows For a sweet topping.
  • to taste Extra Nutella, for drizzling For presentation.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and place it over medium-low heat. Warm it slowly, stirring occasionally.
  2. Keep a close eye on the milk; the moment you see tiny bubbles forming around the edges, pull it back from the heat.
  3. Add the Nutella directly into the warm milk and whisk continuously until it fully dissolves and the mixture looks smooth.
  4. Once combined, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit for about 30 seconds.
Combining
  1. Pour in the coffee liqueur and hazelnut liqueur, then stir everything together gently.
  2. If you're using vanilla extract, add it now for an extra layer of aroma.
Serving
  1. Divide the hot chocolate evenly between two mugs.
  2. Top each mug generously with mini marshmallows.
  3. Drizzle extra Nutella over the marshmallows for a fancy touch.

Notes

Customize by using skim milk for a lighter version or adding a splash of Irish cream for a different flavor. Consider rimming the mugs with crushed graham crackers or adding a cinnamon stick for extra flair.
