Spinach Rolls

Ingredients
  

Filling Ingredients
  • 10 ounces frozen spinach, thawed, drained, and chopped
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup softened cream cheese
  • 1 large egg, separated Save the egg white for brushing the rolls
Dough Ingredient
  • 8 ounces crescent roll dough

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Drain the spinach thoroughly by squeezing out as much liquid as possible using a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the drained spinach, mozzarella, parmesan, cream cheese, and the egg yolk. Mix until well combined.
  4. Carefully separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Assembly
  1. Spoon a small amount of the spinach filling onto the wide end of each dough triangle.
  2. Roll each triangle from the wide end to the pointed tip, making sure to keep the filling sealed inside.
Baking
  1. Brush the rolls lightly with the reserved egg white for a golden finish.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 14 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Drain spinach thoroughly to avoid soggy rolls. Serve warm for the best texture.
