  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the banana peppers into thin rings, discarding the stems.
  2. Pat each ring dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Breading Station Setup
  1. Set up three shallow bowls. Fill the first with all-purpose flour.
  2. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until smooth and lightly frothy.
  3. In the third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
Bread Each Pepper Ring
  1. Dredge each pepper ring in flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. Dip it into the whisked eggs, letting extra drip away.
  3. Press it into the seasoned panko mixture until fully coated.
  4. Set each finished ring aside on a plate or tray.
Frying
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to around 350°F.
  2. Carefully lower a handful of breaded pepper rings into the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding.
  3. Fry for about 2 to 3 minutes, flipping once, until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Remove each ring with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  2. Serve immediately while still hot and crunchy.

Notes

For best results, pat the peppers dry before breading, monitor oil temperature accurately, fry in small batches, and season the panko generously for maximum flavor.
