Patriotic Fruit Cones

Ingredients
  

For the cones
  • 8 pieces waffle cones Sturdy cones for best results.
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers Melted for dipping the cones.
  • Red sugar sprinkles to taste red sugar sprinkles For decoration.
  • Blue sugar sprinkles to taste blue sugar sprinkles For decoration.
  • 8 pieces vanilla pirouette cream-filled wafers Placed at the bottom of the cone to support the yogurt.
For the filling
  • 2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt Thicker Greek yogurt is preferred.
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries For layering.
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries For layering.
  • 1 cup small strawberries, hulled and halved For layering.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Melt white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring well until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Dip the rim of each waffle cone into the melted white chocolate to coat the top edge.
  3. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle red and blue sugar sprinkles onto the rim of each cone.
  4. Chill the decorated cones in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set the chocolate.
  5. Place a vanilla pirouette wafer at the bottom of each chilled cone.
Assembly
  1. Layer one generous spoonful of Greek yogurt at the bottom of the cone, on top of the pirouette wafer.
  2. Follow with a small layer of fresh fruit, then alternate yogurt and fruit layers until the cone is filled.
  3. At the top, arrange the fruit for the classic red-white-blue flag look.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately for the best texture. If making ahead, fill cones no more than 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use Greek yogurt for a thicker consistency. Prepare all fruit before dipping the cones to streamline assembly.
